ST. GEORGE, Utah – Sunroc Corporation has finalized an agreement to purchase a St. George-based asphalt and paving organization. As early as May, Sunroc will offer asphalt and paving services to Southern Utah contractors and the general public.

Included in the acquisition is a 500 ton per hour asphalt plant and a 450 ton per hour mobile asphalt plant. Because of the heat requirements of asphalt, the mobile plant will allow Sunroc to service remote areas in addition to the Southern Utah area.

The acquisition expands Sunroc’s services and offers customers a one-stop-shop for asphalt, ready-mix, sand & gravel and masonry products.

“Creating high quality products is our philosophy and that will continue with asphalt,” said Sunroc President Rhys Weaver. “When we have control of the creation process, we can improve the quality, timing and supply for our customers.”

In 2010, CNN rated St. George as the second fastest growing city in the nation with 52.9% growth over the previous ten years, while also rating St. George 63rd of the top 100 places to live in 2012. With strong year-over-year growth, Sunroc is growing right along with the city. Founded on our value of “building better communities,” Sunroc is proud to help build one of the greatest cities in Utah’s backyard.

Sunroc’s asphalt plant is located at 3850 South 1700 East, St. George 84790, next door to the Sunroc Concrete and Aggregate Facility.
