With the Ada County Highway District (ACHD), Sunroc was contracted for the maintenance pavement rehabilitation project to improve the safety for pedestrians, bikers and improve traffic flow for drivers. Work included repaving, replacing some curb, gutter sidewalk and pedestrian ramps and utility relocation and replacements.

To avoid traffic and other public events, the project had to be completed on nights and weekends. Sunroc worked with the ACHD to allow for short complete road closures and give us the whole road in increments, instead of single lane closures. This allowed us to complete the job much faster and had less impact on traffic.

During the project many unforeseen issues were found. From old wooden water lines to old trolley tracks embedded under layers of old roadway. With all of the issues on the unforeseen items, ACHD didn’t think we would complete the project in 2019.

Sunroc installed:

  • 25,000 square yards of asphalt was removed
  • 6,500 tons of Asphalt
