The St. George Temple renovation project is an extensive undertaking for Sunroc, in conjunction under Westland Construction for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The western wing and northern annex that served as the primary entrance will be demolished in preparation for a new “north addition.” This new addition will be built around a steel framework with the outer walls created from precast, reinforced concrete, which Sunroc will supply.

Limited seismic upgrades will also be made by adding steel to the original wood trusses. Sunroc will also assist with excavation around the foundation to install new mechanical heating and cooling systems. Additional improvements include: grading, structural excavation, utilities, offsite utilities and road reconstruction, new walkways, landscaping. A new plaza will be added on the east side of the annex and a new entrance/exit will be added to the south side. Renovations are expected to be completed in May 2022.
